Matt Szudzik
Physics Assistant
Biography
Matt is a person with a go-getting attitude and a unique enthusiasm
for life. Starting his adult life in the Marines, he gained the
skills necessary to take on the real world and the willingness to
take on any challenge.
After completing his service, Matt went on to attend RIT where
he received his BS in Photographic Arts and Science. From there,
he received degrees in Radiology from Trocaire College and Electrical
Technology from Erie Community College.
His illustrious career in the x-ray field began in a Cardiac Lab
where he focused on research. When the department began focusing
on cardiac catheterizations, Matt became Chief Technician and was
responsible for the quality output of the final products.
When it came time for another change, Matt looked into the field
of radiation treatment. With his degree in Radiology, he was hired
as a Radiation Safety Assistant and was responsible for diagnostic,
chemotherapy and nuclear radiation safety programs at numerous area
hospitals. He directed radiation programs at Buffalo General, Columbus
Hospital, and Deaconess Hospital, as well as the cardiac section
at Millard Gates.
Since then, Matt has completed numerous courses in medical imaging
from Kodak. As an employee of Upstate Medical Physics, Matt continues
to work in radiology departments in Buffalo, Lockport and Orchard
Park.
