Jacob Collins

Jacob received his undergraduate degree in Physics with a minor in Mathematics at University at Buffalo and a Master’s and PhD degrees in Medical Physics from CAMPEP accredited University at Buffalo.  During his graduate studies he participated in research to develop a deep neural network and machine learning model for predicting patient eye-lens dose and patient head position in real-time during fluoroscopically guided neurointerventional procedures, as well as building a patient eye-lens dose database using Monte Carlo simulations.  Jake also worked as a medical physics practicum leader guiding first year students through mock quality assurance for different imaging modalities.

He has passed the ABR part 1 exam and joined UMP in June 2022 as a Medical Physics Resident.

He is striving to enhance his knowledge in field and complete board certification in diagnostic medical physics.

He enjoys playing videogames, watching movies/tv shows, reading a good fantasy book, and nature walks with his wife
