Arely Clavel received her undergraduate degrees from Stony Brook University, and her graduate degree from Columbia University’s CAMPEP-accredited medical physics program. During her graduate career, Arely volunteered at Mount Sinai Hospital and wrote reference materials for incoming medical residents regarding diagnostic imaging modalities and respective radiation safety protocols. Her time at Sinai truly validated her growing passion for the field and laid a foundation for her to build skills.

Biography
Arely Clavel received her undergraduate degrees from Stony Brook University, and her graduate degree from Columbia University’s CAMPEP-accredited medical physics program. During her graduate career, Arely volunteered at Mount Sinai Hospital and wrote reference materials for incoming medical residents, regarding diagnostic imaging modalities and respective radiation safety protocols.

Arely aspires to contribute to the medical physics field by improving diagnostic image quality, testing protocols, and patient safety. She graduated from the Upstate Medical Physics residency in June of 2018. She now works as a Junior Physicist in the New England Region for Landauer Medical Physics.

Arely is originally from Long Island, NY and now lives in Norwalk, Connecticut.

Biography

Isaac received his undergraduate degree in Radiation Health Physics from Oregon State University.  He continued his education at the CAMPEP accredited Oregon Medical Physics Program in Portland, Oregon where he received his graduate degree.  During his graduate studies he had a focus in diagnostic imaging physics and subsequently completed his master’s thesis on the impacts of tube current and tube potential in Computed Tomography and the resulting influences on image quality and dose indices.

Isaac joined the Upstate Medical Physics residency program in June of 2017 and graduated in 2019.  He is currently employed by Oregon Health and Science Center.

He is originally from The Dalles, Oregon and now lives in Canandaigua, NY.

Marcus received his undergraduate degree in Physics from Indiana University, and his graduate degree in Medical Physics from Radiological Technologies University. After completing his master’s degree, Marcus went on to work under the medical physics team at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, where he was trained for two years as a diagnostic medical physicist.Marcus is passionate about image quality and patient safety and is eager to hone his skills as a medical physicist. He is delighted to have joined Upstate Medical Physics as a Diagnostic Medical Physics Resident in June of 2018.

Marcus graduated from the UMP Residency program in 2020.  He found full-time employment at in Diagnostic Medical Physics at St. Vincent's Hospital in Evansville, Indiana, which is close proximity to his family.

Kyle Ostrowski

Kyle received his undergraduate degree in Physics and Math at the University of Louisville, and his graduate degree in Medical Physics from CAMPEP accredited Purdue University.  During his graduate studies he had a focus in diagnostic imaging physics and helped to develop and run an MRI neuroimaging study of manganese toxicity testing potential biomarkers for personal risk assessment in occupational welders. He has completed Part 1 of the ABR exam for diagnostic medical physics, and plans to continue towards board certification.

Kyle joined Upstate Medical Physics as a Diagnostic Medical Physics Resident in June of 2019.

He is originally from Louisville, Kentucky and now lives in Fairport, NY.

Kyle graduated from the UMP residency in 2021 and accepted a position with Landauer Medical Physics in Florida.

Joseph Belobrajdich

Joe received his undergraduate degree in Physics from Slippery Rock University. After briefly teaching students for the SAT and ACT standardized tests, Joe attended Oregon Health and Science University to further his education by specializing in diagnostic imaging in medical physics. His master’s thesis focused on developing technique charts for scoliosis patients accounting for numerous variables such as patient size and room outputs. Joe successfully completed part 1 of the ABR in medical physics and is eager to enhance his knowledge in the field.

Joe joined the Upstate Medical Physics Residency program in June 2019.

He grew up in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and now lives in Brighton, NY.

Joe graduated the UMP residency in 2021 and accepted a position as a Junior Medical Physicist in Denver Colorado.

James received a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Kent State University, and a Master of Science in Medical Physics from Cleveland State University. During his graduate studies, James served as a teaching assistant where he taught undergraduate physics labs in addition to working on research concerning target exposure indices and fluoroscopic data analysis. He joined Upstate Medical Physics as a Diagnostic Medical Physics Resident in June of 2021 and is eager to grow his knowledge in the field.

Patrick Bond received his undergraduate degree in Physics with a minor in Mathematics at Idaho State University. Then he moved with his wife and son to Indiana and received his graduate degree in Medical Physics from CAMPEP accredited Purdue University. During his graduate studies he had the opportunity to conduct computer particle physics simulations and work as a radiation detection lab teaching assistant. He also spent a summer at the Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, IL learning about and performing basic quality assurance in radiographic and fluoroscopic equipment in addition to ACR accreditation testing in ultrasound, CT, and MRI equipment as a graduate student. He has completed Part 1 of the ABR exam for diagnostic medical physics.

Patrick joined Upstate Medical Physics as a Diagnostic Medical Physics Resident in July of 2021.

Originally from Rupert, ID he now lives in Farmington, NY he plans to enhance his knowledge in the field and work towards board certification in diagnostic medical physics.
